Copyediting The line-by-line edit before typesetting I offer a free exploratory call so that I can understand what you’re hoping for from an edit, understand your editorial preferences and so you can ask me questions. Close reading your book, line-by-line, I will check spelling, punctuation, grammar and consistency, for example, hyphenation, capitalisation and use of numbers. Your reader is always on my mind as I edit with a focus on areas where your reader could be distracted from your story and message. I will build a style sheet to reflect your editorial preferences. The style sheet could be useful if you write a sequel, when it could be used to support the consistency of the look and feel of a series.
