You know that you're ready for proofreading or editing, and you're not sure exactly how that will work.


Putting your manuscript into the hands of an editor or proofreader can be a daunting prospect. You're making an investment in your book, and you'll have questions.


I'm keen to talk to you so I can understand where you are in the publishing process and what level of intervention you're looking for: proofreading (the last double-check before publication), copyediting (an edit before your work is typeset) or proof-editing (somewhere in-between).


If you have editorial conventions, I'll follow them. If you don't have them yet, we'll talk about your preferences. Building a style sheet for you is always part of my copyediting and proof-editing services, along with consistency, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

 Need a clear markup?

For PDFs, I use BSI symbol stamps or the Adobe highlight and comment functions.

For Word, I use track changes, and comment boxes for comments/questions.
